Toor Dal(కంది పప్పు) is the most widely used Dal in India and, with its subtly sweet taste, it’s no surprise this ochre-coloured split pea is so popular. Toor Dal is similar looking but smaller in size to Channa Dal, so the required soaking time is shorter. Pulses and beans are a natural source of protein and high in fibre. They are perfect for bulking out dishes, especially Vegetarian ones, as they are simultaneously extremely filling and good for us. Of the many pulses, those with the husk removed are called Dal.
